2012 - Week One - Let's Do This I'm starting off 2012 with a positive surge of energy and eagerness because I know this is going to be a great year! This year, although I don't set new year's goals or resolutions, I am looking forward...
Week Fifty - Gifts This week's post is all about gifts. First I'll start with the gift of an amazing husband who cares for me way more than I could ever deserve. This past week, my laptop that I use for doing my job...
Week Fourty Nine - Lessons Learned One of the things I have learned about blogging over the past years, is that the very thing that you most want to write about generally keeps you from writing. That thing is called life. When I get busy,...
Week Thirty - Rabbits Reborn and Sharing the Game of... This week has been a long one. Scott has been in Africa all week and does not get back until Wednesday. Although I have missed him greatly, I have been able to accomplish much with the quiet house...
Week Twenty Nine - Missions and Mittens Scott left for Uganda yesterday on his first mission trip, ever. He will be gone for 10 days and is part of an all male (testosterone rich) group of coaches and active guys. He was excited, nervous,...
Well, it is time for my Dogs on Thursday post again and I have been promising photos of Ebby’s kroj. I made the pattern up from scratch and tried to make it match my costume as much as possible. It was a lot of fun to put together and made me think of sewing doll clothes. She is such a ham and she really doesn’t mind looking goofy for her mom. She will be attending the National Polka Festival with me in May and we will have photos. Until then here you go:
Bathing a Chihuahua (that enjoys baths) is such a fun and easy thing to do. Ebby weighs 3 pounds dry and fits in my hand so she is very easy to handle when it is bath time. I am so glad that she actually enjoys, as much as a little dog can, her bath time and doesn’t freak out when the water is running.
Yesterday, I went into Petco to pick up a bag of dog food that I had a “free” coupon for. Twenty seven dollars, three outfits, one bed and one bag of training treats later I came back out. Isn’t that the way it always goes? Anyway, the outfits were regularly $15.99 (way, way over priced, to be sure) on sale three for $10. Did I mention that they were originally way overpriced? Ebby now has three new sweaters and is modeling one in the photo below. Enjoy…
Bath Time
Check out my new sweater.
I see the treat and am waiting for you to tell me I can have it.
Today I give you Ebenezer’s training progress. She now weighs 3 pounds and is 4 months old. This is not really a good example of her best work, but it is cute, none the less. Enjoy!
For the past month or two I have been working on the first page of what will be a whole new chapter in our lives. Today the final i’s were dotted and t’s crossed and I am now officially a student again. I will be starting the first of many classes in mid-march in an effort to complete my Masters of Divinity at Liberty University. The final objective will be a doctorate in history, if I haven’t gone insane by that point. (Some may say that I already have…)
It is truly amazing how things come together. I would not be able to do this if it were not for the recent job that Mr. K just landed (which he loves) and the fact that the courses are offered online.
It is my intention to continue to do the Secret of the Stole knit-a-longs, just not as frequently. I am tossing around the idea of combining the knitwith.us website with my blog so that all the patterns and instructional videos are in one place.
Of course, I am still going to work on the Czech costumes and the photos of Ebby and Blazer will continue to grace my blog pages as well. In face, here is a funny, yet not so funny, video of Ebby and her brother, Blazer.
After I filmed this video, I put some Bitter Apple on Blazer’s tail. It turns out that Ebby likes Bitter Apple… So next we tried vinegar and she does not like vinegar…but Blazer does. So, we alternate between Ebby chewing on Blazer’s tail and Blazer chewing on Blazer’s tail….not a win/win situation…Time and training will eventually produce good results, we hope!
Thanks to everyone who commented on the vests. I think I have decided which way to go and will post the finished vest photos in a week or so.
I thought I would share with you how I am destined to do my computer work for the next 10 to 15 (possibly more) years…Seriously thinking about sewing a baby sling for this creature!!
Enjoy!
