My Birthday Is Coming And I Feel Like Dancing

Category : Fiber Arts

7 CD's from Polkacatalog.comMy birthday is coming and I feel like dancing!  Could it be because my dear, sweet Mr. K got me a present early?

Whoo hoo, Seven CD’s of Czech polka and waltz music.  He even bought me some lilies, too!  I am getting so excited about the festival!  Can you tell?

All that is left to do is find the flowers and ribbon for my hair "do" and have my hair cut and permed next Wednesday.  I will be sure to post photos of that adventure.  Oh ya, and try to find calf high black leather boots in spring.  I have been looking but there just aren’t any to be had around here…  Any suggestions?

Yummy!! How does this thing work???

It’s official, I have crossed the threshold and am 41. The day was spent relaxing and doing pretty much whatever came up here at home. Scott baked a cake for me and it was stupendous!! My gift would have been an insult had I not actually asked for it. Now to rebound myself through my 40′s. The fat will probably successfully stay away, but I will probably sprain my ankle or break my leg instead. Stay tuned.

Abby’s Socks

There is no feeling in the world like making a gift for someone and seeing a look of total happiness when they open it and really appreciate it. This is especially true when the look is on a child’s face. Today Abigail Marchio turned 6. Her brother Gabriel gave me some fuzzy yarn for my birthday about a month ago and I used it to decorate the top of the socks that I made for Abigail. Here is the result and her reaction. The pictures don’t need words.

40 is pretty cool!

Sunday was Mother’s day and it was also my 40th birthday. We celebrated it all with food, cake, and presents at the Marchio’s house. All in all, 40 is pretty cool. Scott gave me saddlebags for my new bike, the kids all gave me presents that they had chosen themselves and my sister in law picked up a really cool cake for me too. Although, she told me that we are now going by decades now instead of years therefore I only had a number 4 on my cake this year. HAHA

Me, opening the presents from the kids.

See my new saddlebags.

Cool cake!

Birthday Surprises

Category : From Previous Blog, Journal, Knitting In Motion

What a wonderful birthday I had this year! Thirty nine is not so bad when you have people around you that love you and a Father in heaven who guides you.

Scott and I celebrated my birthday this year by installing a new washer and dryer in the bus. They work like a dream! No more laundr-o-mats for us! Yipee =0)

Here is a picture of Scott watching the washer spin:

Then we went to dinner at a little steak house here in town. They are small in size only. There are no menus and the chef/cook comes out from the back (if it is your first time dining there) with a huge slab of meat on a very large cutting board. He explains their dining selections (steak or chicken) and then retreats to the back to prepare what you ask for. The sides were baked potato or sweet potato and salad bar. The dinner was wonderful, but $50 for the two of us was quite steep. Oh well, it was our first (and probably last) time dining there.

At dinner Scott surprised me with a new camera. I have been wanting one for some time now so that I can take pictures for this blog and other group stuff.

So since I have the camera now I can take a picture of the gift my wonderful friend Cathy sent me. She is such a wonderful blessing and truly a gift from God. Here is what she sent.

She sent me a wonderful book and a really neat scarf that she knitted for me.
