You Knew This Post Was Coming – Dogs On Thursday

Category : Featured, Journal

Hello world, my name is Elf

Yep, that is right, we have made it home with our new baby girl Chihuahua, Elf.  Her full name is Ebenezer Legolas Fillmer (Elf for short).  Mr. K calls her Ebby and I call her Elf at the moment.

You know how it is when you get a new puppy and they cry all night in their kennel, pee all over the floor because they are not house trained yet, and pretty much disrupt your entire life and schedule?  Well, not this time!!

Elf did not cry once on the 4 hour long car ride home from the breeder.  She only whines when she needs to go outside to do her business and she sleeps through the night in her kennel, by herself, without making a peep.  Unbelievable!

Here is another shot of her in her new sweater that I knit for her before I had even met her.  It fits her perfectly!!!

Elf in her new sweater

Our vet said she looked awesome and she weighed in at 1 pound 5 ounces (not wearing her sweater).  We brought her home in a carry bag/purse that she has claimed as her very own.  On our way out the door to go pick her up I grabbed a hand knitted hat that my mother had bought in Austrailia eons ago.  From the moment she was placed inside it she claimed it as her own personal snuggly and that is what she sleeps in when she is not playing with her toys or Blazer’s tail.

Elf and one of her many new toys.

Eeee! She’s adorable!

(That bottom photo… “Puppy Reality Lesson in 3….2…..1….”)

OH MY Gosh! She is precious! How fun… I wish my new-ish puppy were as good on the potty-training front.

What a cutie patootie! I love her name and nicknames, too. Congratulations on having a real sweetie.

(I’m a cat person…I can’t believe I just wrote that! VBG!)

What an adorable baby! And I love the name – she does look like an elf!

Poor Blazer is about to get a lesson in how to lay ON his tail! How high did he jump after that photo was taken, anyhow? She’s adorable and has great coloring – she’s a VERY lucky puppy to come live with you, Mr. K and Blazer. Congrats Mommy and Daddy!

OMG, she is sooo cute! I have two dogs 13, and 8. The eight year old is a pomeranian. I really want a puppy, but I know it would be fair to my older dog. Congrads.

She is the cutest thing!

OMG!!! She is too cute for words. Now I want one…..but Sunny my golden girl would think she’s another plush toy to carry around in her mouth. Now you have your own baby to make clothes for.
Bet she’s gonna be the boss.
Congrats, DK. I know you’re in love again.

Is Blazer a basset?

Oh she is precious – I have always wanted a dog that would fit in a purse! But a hat?? She will run that house within another few hours. g

Oh My God! She is the cutest little elf-y puppy ever! Congratulations. When I got Darby she could snuggle inside one of my hats too. I can’t wait to see more pictures of her and the sweaters you make to keep her warm.

She is ADORABLE! I love the shot of her going for his tail!
